We need your help today to finish Three Bridges Park.
The next steps include building community gardens, expanding Urban Ecology Center's hands-on science education, and launching a community-based land stewardship program to ensure the long-term sustainability of the land.
It is a great time to get involved! With your support kids will learn in the park through their science classes, families will discover wildlife along a restored Menomonee River, and native trees and plants will flourish.
It all started with a vision.
Take a forgotten 24-acre vacant rail yard in the heart of the Menomonee Valley. Transform it into a vibrant place for today and generations to come. Activate it with a new branch of the Urban Ecology Center. Make it an outdoor science classroom for thousands of kids. Connect it with footbridges to nearby neighborhoods and make walking to Valley jobs possible once again. Expand the Hank Aaron State Trail. Restore habitat and bring wildlife back to the Menomonee River. Spark further economic development in the Valley and beyond.
This vision is Three Bridges Park.
Three Bridges Park is a part of the Hank Aaron State Trail and a central part of Menomonee Valley-From the Ground Up. With community wide support, initial construction is complete and the park is open to the public. A once-abandoned rail yard is now home to trails, restored river banks, access for fishing and canoeing, and thousands of newly planted saplings.
While the groundwork has been laid, there's much more to do.
